About Breakpoint Media
I’m Colby Otte. I design things that get printed.
I finished a degree in digital media at the College of Southern Idaho in 2007 and went straight to work as a graphic designer for the Weekly Mailer and Weekly News Journal.
The short version
In 2010 I moved to King’s Variety Stores, a regional chain with 21 locations, as advertising coordinator and graphic designer. Over seven years I designed and produced more than 100 printed advertising circulars, managed print production, ran the company’s Xerox digital press, and worked with company leadership on how the ads were distributed. When the company closed in early 2017, I went out on my own.
Since then I’ve worked from Burley. Discover Area Guides has been a client since 2018 — more than 50 travel guides so far, with the ads, maps, and page layouts in them, and the Discover Heritage Hub website. Along the way the maps got bigger, and the work grew to include websites and the software my own travel agency, Goose Creek Travel, runs on.
Outside client work I’ve written a few Lua scripts for various FiveM communities. Nobody pays me for those. It’s the same habit as the rest of it: something doesn’t work the way I want, so I go build the piece that does.
How I work
You deal with me, start to finish — the person you talk to is the person doing the work. I’ll tell you plainly whether something is worth doing, what it will cost, and when it will be ready. Replies usually come within one business day.
