Discover Heritage Hub

The Discover Heritage Hub home page: the site name over a regional map, the tagline “A comprehensive guide to the histories, unique cultures and shared heritage,” and an introduction to the site below.
The home page of DiscoverHeritageHub.com.

The problem

Discover Area Guides had years of stories and articles about the communities its guides cover, and nowhere to keep them together. They wanted one content-rich home for all of it.

The approach

Discover Heritage Hub is a service of Discover Area Guides. I designed and built it in WordPress, and I host it. It’s organized by state, region, and county, so someone researching one town finds its article alongside the museums, historical societies, chambers of commerce, and archives that cover it.

The outcome

Live since 2025, with 324 destination articles on individual cities, towns, and counties, and 629 links out to chambers, historical societies, and other local resources.

A Discover Heritage Hub region page: the Bear Lake Valley header over a regional introduction, then a search field with content type, location and category filters, above a grid of photographed destination cards.
Each region page filters the whole library — by county, by category, or by search.
Detail of the Bear Lake Valley region page: a search field, content type checkboxes for Destinations (23) and External Links (122), and a location filter set to Bear Lake County and Rich County, above three rows of resource cards from the Bear Lake Adventure Park to Beaver Mountain.
The search and filters, here narrowed to Bear Lake and Rich counties.

The articles and research are by Discover Area Guides, a DBA of Slider Solutions. Most card photos are by Jack Johnson; photos of businesses and cities are supplied by them. Design, build, and hosting by me.
